Fear Of Perception (2023)
Growing up with a very religion based family, something that has always intrigued me was the phrase my mom used to say every Sunday school, “God is always watching. No matter if you're at school, home, in the bathroom or while laying on your bed in the middle of the night.”
Psalm 121:9 says “The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.” And as a child hearing these verses I didn't feel comforted. Instead I felt like Why was I being watched? It always felt just a bit too uncomfortable with the whole idea.
As I grew older instead of being fearful of God watching me, I couldn’t understand the idea that people saw me as a human, because when I looked in the mirror I didn't recognize who I was looking at. I want the viewer to kind of recognize that there might be human among them.
